Brazed Plate
For extreme heat transmission jobs, a brazed plate heat exchanger can provide a strong and efficient solution. The high heat transmission comes from the plate pattern which is designed to create a turbulent flow whilst maintain low pressure drops. The entire system is comprised only of heat transfer surface – without rubber gaskets – so can operate continuously at temperatures from minus 180°C up to 200°C, with a pressure rating of up to 2,500kPa (362 psi). The plate pack, assembled with two end plates and connections, is vacuum brazed at extremely high temperatures providing a permanently sealed heat exchanger.
These heat exchangers are highly economical to run, very compact (up to 60% smaller than traditional heat exchangers) and require only thin plate material, making brazed plate systems extremely competitive in pricing. These units offer significant advantages over old-style shell and tube or coaxial devices being. Typical uses include:
- Heating and cooling duties in the manufacturing industry for clean fluids such as hydraulic oil, refrigerants and scheme water.
- Heating and cooling in HVAC installations.
- Evaporation and condensation in DX chilling applications with refrigeration systems using R-22, R-134a, R-404a, R410a and other refrigerants
